Statement
From ASTM, CGA, NFPA, and
others:
"Design, layout and safe operation of oxygen &
gas distribution piping systems are the responsibilities of
the oxygen system users, who should obtain qualified
professional assistance, to establish design specifications
and operating practices for the safe use of
oxygen".
From Gas Technology
Consultants:
"There are many subjective judgments, external
influences, and compromises involved with gas distribution
piping systems. Each system must be designed individually,
while assuring that all critical data and essential
variables are selected and applied – for each specific
system – without exception."
NOTE:
The combustibility and potential for adiabatic compression
in all installations, procedures, equipment, and material
for oxygen and fuel gas piping systems mandate that a
qualified “DESIGNATED AGENT”, serving as “AUTHORITY
HAVING JURISDICTION”, without exception.
Gas Technology
Consultants, Inc. serves its customers as “DESIGNATED
AGENT”, and assumes the role of the “AUTHORITY HAVING
JURISDICTION” according to the National Fire Protection
Association, Publication 51.
